THE SECRET SANTA SOIREE.....SO MUCH FUN

I was not having a good morning at all. I was thinking of all that I had to do around here to get ready for the kid's visit on Thursday. It is supposed to snow tonight or tomorrow, so I thought I should get my ham from Costco, 45 minutes away. I figured while I was there, I would do some last minute shopping. Well, I woke up to a mess (thank you, Zeus) and that did it. I was not going shopping anywhere, I was shampooing the carpet in the living room. Let's just say, that he barked during the night and I didn't get up to let him out. Enough said.
All of a sudden, Santa appeared with a package for me. Well, he wasn't wearing a santa suit, but he looked like Santa to me...anyone carrying a package with my name on it this time of year, is Santa.
I love presents, and I love getting things in the mail.....whoo hoo, did that ever change my mood.
My package was shipped from Georgia, that's all I could tell.

I needed a break from the carpet shampooing, so I tore into the box. Wow, look at all the presents I get to open. I'm like a little kid, I get so excited.

Look at all my goodies!!!!! I got a warm pair of Christmas socks. I really need those this time of year, because my feet are always freezing. They are nice and thick. I got two kitchen towels that say Merry Christmas on the front. I always try to have a Christmas towel in the kitchen hanging, during the holidays. I got the cutest salt and pepper shakers (see below). One of them is a gingerbread house....perfect for the gingerbread gal. It sort of looks like my gingerbread shed. I got a Glade scented oil candle in "apple cinnamon scent"...I need to burn it right away to get rid of any leftover odors that my dog left, and also a winter pine diffuser that smells so Christmasy. I tore into that right away and set it up. Then onto the chocolate, Mrs. Fields chocolates and peppermint candy, and some Expresso beans with chocolate. You know I didn't waste a second opening those. A magnetic note pad that says Naughty or Nice. Does my Secret Santa know that I am really naughty?
Then the cutest Disney ornament of Dumbo the flying elephant. (see below). I love ornaments and have been collecting them since the 1970's. This found a spot on my tree, right away.

Nice warm socks, and kitchen towels

Salt and Pepper shakers.....too cute

Look at this cute Dumbo ornament. I have to say I love Disney and when I was a kid, the Dumbo ride at Disneyland was one of my favorites.

Dumbo found the perfect spot on my tree

Thank you so much to my secret santa....I hope you reveal yourself soon. I am curious to see who you are and if you are someone I know.
Thank you also to Georgie and Amy for all their hard work hosting the Secret Santa Soiree.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL........AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.

TWELVE YEARS AGO SHE WAS A SWEET CHRISTMAS PRESENT

Twelve years ago, I had the privilage of seeing my granddaughter, Nikki Noelle born. She was just a few days shy of being a Christmas baby. She came on the morning of December 19th.
What a sweetheart this gal is.
This is Taylor (big sister) and Nikki. They are only 19 months apart in age.

Here's Taylor and Nikki with mom and dad last year on vacation. Both girls are tall, they take after their mom and dad in height. Wendy is 6'0 and Kevin is 6'5. Yes, that is my daughter, although you'd never know she came from me...she's tall, thin, and blonde.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIKKI......LOVE YOU. WE WILL CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY WHEN YOU COME UP FOR CHRISTMAS ON THURSDAY.

A LITTLE SNOW ON MY GINGERBREAD SHED

My little Gingerbread shed in the snow. We've gotten a couple of snowstorms this past week and it makes it hard to get out to my shed. It's pretty much closed for the winter.

Our back yard showing my shed, the storage building, and the barn. Fun to ride the quad around in the snow back here. Our dog, Zeus chases it and if you don't go fast enough for him, he tries to nip the tires.

It's been a crazy week. My last post, I talked of hurting my back. It's better, not totally healed, but much better. Then I tried to slice my finger off (kidding, I didn't try, it was an accident) with a vegetable slicer that my husband bought. Darn those blades are sharp. I remember last year at Christmas when I broke a tall glass candle holder and sliced my finger....must be an annual thing that I have going on.

My house looked like a disaster for a week. I think every room was a mess from something. I had plastic storage bins in the living room while I decorated the tree, the dining room table was piled up with wrapping paper and ribbon, I had a loose sprayer thing on my sink, so I had to take everything out from under the sink so hubby could get under there to tighten it. The guest bedroom has gifts waiting to be wrapped, and other stuffed piled on the bed, and the laundry room where I have shelves for canned goods and things, is piled up with things from the latest Costco run that need to be put away. All I want for Christmas is Annie the maid. lol

I want to say a shout out for my friend, Jerrie, who has had a rough couple of months. she's had numerous doctor visits and tests, hubby had one surgery and is having another at the end of the month, her sister passed away a couple of months ago, and just Sat. morning, her brother-in-law passed away. Her daughter is in the hospital this week undergoing some extensive testing, and her little 6 year old grandson has to have sinus surgery next month. She is a strong gal but is a little down right now. Jerrie, I know you read my blog, even though you never comment....you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope everything turns out okay.
