NATALIE'S SURGERY...GET WELL SOON

This is my daughter-in-law, Natalie. (I have two d.i.l's). She was having a lot of problems with tonsilitis and decided to have her tonsils removed. She had her surgery this morning and I just got a call from my son (and her mom called too) that she made it through surgery just fine, and is in the recovery room right now. I hope she has a speedy recovery, without a lot of pain.
I told her how brave I thought she was....I would of just suffered through with the sore throats cause I am such a chicken.
My daughter-in-law, Michelle is back at her OB doctor this morning for another blood test. I am hoping she gets the "all clear". It's been a rough two weeks for her.
I was glued to the television yesterday afternoon and evening watching the events of the tragedy in Texas. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families. I just don't understand how someone can do something so awful.

AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT, SHOPPING, AND AN UPDATE

Our old television was getting ready to go out, so we decided to buy ourselves an early Christmas present. Hubby went to Costco and found this 55" HD tv and stand. I cannot get used to the HD picture yet. It gives me a slight headache, I think because the picture seems to close up. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe it's just my eyes.

I took a drive yesterday to St. George (45 minutes away) to go shopping for a few hours. I went to Target, Ross, TJMaxx, and Tai Pan. Oh boy the goodies I saw and wanted to buy. But I was pretty good, I restrained myself somewhat. I saw these Christmas carolers that I really wanted. Can't think of the name of them, but they are collectibles. I saw them on someone's blog but can't remember who's it was. I picked one up and looked at the bottom for the price, and put it in my cart. Then on to another one. Picked it up, checked the bottom for the price and said "whoa"...someone marked it wrong. It was priced at $49.99. Picked the one up I had put in my cart to look at the price again...I had looked at it wrong. I thought it was $4.99. NO....I quickly put it back on the shelf. I wanted it but couldn't justify spending 50 bucks for it. Not after just purchasing that $1800 tv and stand. Whew...the budget couldn't quite swing it.
But I did find a couple of winter tops to wear, a few Christmas things for my Secret Santa, and these cute Indian figurines for Thanksgiving. They look like they are carved out of wood, but I think it's probably some other material. They are heavy and stand 13" tall.

I needed to get back to town by 3 pm so I had to leave the shopping behind, and I was just getting on a roll. Usually I tire quickly, or don't see things I am interested in, but yesterday I saw all kinds of neat things. Most of the stores have Christmas decor out.

A quick update on my daughter-in-law Michelle. After a few hours at the ER last night, they ended up giving her two injections of Methotrexate. It's a drug they use in chemotherapy and also in tubal pregnancies. The doctor said it works 90% of the time to end a tubal pregnancy. If this procedure doesn't work, then surgery is the last resort. It is very toxic and the doctor told her she needed to keep herself isolated for 48 hours. The chemical will come out of her pores, tear ducts, saliva, etc. and not to be around Kaden at all. So Michelle is staying at her mom's condo that her mom uses for a second home, by herself. I feel bad for her being alone, but she wants to protect Kaden. The doctor told her if she has any severe side effects from it, to call an ambulance and get to the hospital. How scary is that? So it's a waiting game again. She will continue to see her OB doctor for blood tests until her hormone levels are back to normal and they know for sure the pregnancy has ended. I talked to her this morning and other than not getting any sleep, she is doing okay. (it also causes insomnia). It's been a rough week and a half for her and my son, but they will get through it. Thanks again for all your sweet comments.

SOME MORE PRAYERS NEEDED

Well, friends, I ask you again for some prayers and good thoughts directed at Michelle. I thought she was doing so well. She is back in the Emergency room undergoing some more tests and worst case scenerio, surgery. Her OB doctor called her today and said she got the results back from the blood test and yes, it is a tubal pregnancy. She wanted to see her in the office, then sent her on to the ER. Apparently her body hasn't been able to miscarry completely on her own. I don't know all the ends and outs of it, but there is a shot that they can give to help the body dissolve and then reabsorb the embroyo, if I understood it right. It doesn't always work though, then it requires surgery. She will know more after they do some more tests. She's pretty nervous right now, and I sure don't blame her.

I'll let you know what happens.
